“I want to take an angle grinder and slice these compositions straight out of the landscape and take them home but that has all sorts of ethical and legal ramifications, often they are parts of peoples homes, businesses, or critical infrastructure. Photography is a decidedly underwhelming form of reproduction for these purposes so I constructed steel frames and began producing compositions from the very materials they were made of, if it were a road I’d use asphalt, a wall I’d use bricks. These constructions aren’t exact reproductions of any one thing I have witnessed but an abstraction of many memories.”
